Momentum Spectroscopy
Cold Target Recoil Ion Momentum Spectroscopy (COLTRIMS) is an experimental technique for investigating the correlated dynamics of particles on the atomic scale. The reaction microscope comprises a supersonic gas-jet target, well-defined electrostatic and magnetic fields, and position- and time-sensitive detectors, such as RoentDek DLDs or HEX detectors. Subsequent data acquisition and processing with RoentDek electronics and software allow the initial three-dimensional momenta of the particles to be reconstructed, providing detailed insight into the correlated dynamics of ionization processes.
RoentDek builds custom-designed COLTRIMS systems ranging from complete setups to individual and modular spectrometer and supersonic gas-jet solutions. In addition to COLTRIMS systems, RoentDek also provides solutions for Velocity Map Imaging (VMI) applications.
